Losing a loved one can be difficult.  Here are some ways to turn your care and concern into meaningful action.

  • Listen with your heart.  Don't worry about finding the right words.  Your presence is enough.
  • Be compassionate.  Offer a hug.
  • Offer to help with everyday needs, such as household tasks, preparing a mea,l or providing transportation.
  • Stay in touch by making a phone call, writing a note, sending flowers, or giving a small gift.
  • Make a donation to a favorite charity in memory of a loved one.
  • Be aware of difficult days like holidays and anniversaries.
  • Be available for your friend's children.
  • Learn about the grieving process.
  • Offer to attend grief support groups or memorial services with them.
