Published: Thu. February 18, 2010

The Board of Directors of Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region (HPCCR) is pleased to announce that Peter A. Brunnick has accepted the position of HPCCR President & CEO.  Pete joined HPCCR 11 years ago and currently holds the position of interim President & CEO and Chief Financial Officer.

Pete is a graduate of North Carolina State University and prior to joining HPCCR, he served as the chief financial officer of the Givens Estates and WCI Consulting Services in Asheville, NC.  Pete is a certified public accountant and is a member of both the AICPA and the NCACPA.  He was the 2009 Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Carolina’s Center for Hospice and End of Life Care and was a 2007 recipient of the Center’s Spirit of Hospice Award.  He has also served as board treasurer for the Carolina’s Center, which serves over 100 hospice providers in North and South Carolina.  Pete was appointed by the Governor’s office to serve as a provider representative on the North Carolina Hospice Certificate of Need Methodology Task Force.  In 2009, he was named not-for-profit CFO of the Year by the Charlotte Business Journal.

Bryan Kennedy, HPCCR Chairman of the Board of Directors, said that following an extensive national search, the Board of Directors are confident that Pete Brunnick is the right candidate to lead the organization into the future.  “Pete already has an intimate knowledge of HPCCR, and as the interim President & CEO, he has proven that he is capable of this role.  His passion for the mission of HPCCR impressed all of us on the search committee and made the decision an easy one.”

Pete assumed the position of President & CEO on February 17.
