honoring loved ones
Find comfort in a memory dedication. . .
The loss of a loved one is difficult, but often family members find comfort by making a gift in memory or in honor of a friend or loved one whose life has been touched by Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region. It is often a thoughtful remembrance in place of funeral flowers.
When your gift is received, we will send you a letter of acknowledgment for your tax records. We will also send a special notification letter to the person(s) you are honoring or their family.
Your memorial gifts support our mission to provide quality, compassionate care and support services to individuals and families facing life-threatening illnesses, enabling them to experience the end of life with grace and dignity.
Memorial gift opportunities vary by each hospice house location. Contact us at 704.335.3557 to learn more.
memorial bricks
Honor loved ones through our Building Bricks Program. . .
Many families and friends choose to designate memorials at our Levine & Dickson Hospice Houses. Through our Building Bricks program, a family who designates memorial gifts to our hospice house may have an engraved brick installed in the memorial walkways at Levine & Dickson Hospice House - Huntersville, Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Aldersgate, or Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster.
Memorial bricks may be purchased at any time with a $500 donation. Each spring and fall, bricks are dedicated with a ceremony of remembrance. Bricks are an enduring, visible way to honor and memorialize loved ones and to support compassionate, expert hospice care. Download and complete our Memorial Brick Dedication Form to purchase your brick and honor your loved one.
In addition to engraved bricks, there are other memorial gift opportunities at each hospice house location. Please contact Nancy Cole at 704.335.4312 to learn more.

enhanced care programs
"Enhanced Care for the Person Living with Dementia. . ."
Our "Enhanced Care for the Person Living with Dementia" is a patient and family-centered program created by Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region to meet the needs of individuals living with dementia. Our social workers employ a multi-sensory approach to communicate with our patients.
Within this program, we have had particular success and rewarding results with the use of iPad technology. Even our most unresponsive patients have interacted with a social worker using an iPad. In addition to providing staff the opportunity to develop a relationship with patients, this technology has also allowed families to reconnect with a loved one who may have previously been unresponsive. A diagnosis of dementia can be frightening for a family, but this new program offers a glimpse of the loved one they know is still there.
In order to offer even better care to our patients living with dementia, HPCCR has a goal of purchasing iPads for all of our social workers. You can help us reach this goal by clicking here to make a gift to fund this meaningful project.

memorial bells & remembrance tree lights
A gift to remember. . .
Each year we release a new porcelain bell -- no two have been, or will be, alike. The bells are two inches tall, very lightweight and are perfect to hang on your holiday tree or to display year-round. Each bell is hand-inscribed with the name and date and will be mailed to you or your chosen recipients. Purchase your bell from the HPCCR online shop!
Purchase “honor or memorial lights” on our Remembrance Trees which are located throughout Mecklenburg and surrounding counties from the first tree lighting in December, through January of the following year. A tribute card will be sent to those you honor or to the families of the loved one you are remembering. Purchase your lights online by clicking here!
