HPCCR Senior Director of Medical Services, Beth Martin appointed President-elect of The National Hospice & Palliative Nurses Association

January 16, 2018 – Charlotte, NC - This January, the National Hospice & Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA) welcomes a new President-Elect: Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Regions’ Senior Director of Medical Services, Beth Martin. The mission of HPNA is to advance expert care in serious illness through education, competence, advocacy, leadership and research. HPNA designs courses and curriculum to advance the expertise of hospice and palliative care nurses, support research on best practices, and develop nursing leaders locally and nationally. HPNA has a robust certification program and works to increase professional certification in this specialty.

Ms. Martin began with HPCCR in 2005 and brings 12 years of experience as a nurse practitioner in hospice and palliative care. She has extensive experience in acute and critical care nursing, nursing education and clinical practice. She is certified in the specialty of hospice and palliative nursing. 

"It is a tremendous honor to be asked to participate in the governance of the Hospice & Palliative Nurses Association. This is an organization that proudly represents the many nurses in our field and I am looking forward to being involved in a meaningful way."

Ms. Martin’s term will be effective January 1, 2018 and will last 1 year. She will assume the role of President in January 2019.
