HPCCR VP & COO Mike Bolewitz wins 40 Under 40 Award


HPCCR Vice President & COO Mike Bolewitz, PharmD, MBA, CHPCA, is among the recipients of the prestigious 2018 Charlotte Business Journal 40 Under 40 award. According to HPCCR President & CEO, Pete Brunnick, "Mike has been instrumental in ensuring that Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region remains a strong, solid, and vibrant healthcare entity, while preserving our core values and commitment to excellent patient care." 

Mike has been with HPCCR since December 2007 and was hired as the organization’s first Pharmacist.  Mike’s positive impact was immediate as he quickly became known for his intellect, his exemplary customer service, his willingness to offer assistance, his exceptional communication style, and his patience.  Additionally, he demonstrated the potential to drive process improvement.  Mike earned his Doctor of Pharmacy, graduating Cum Laude, from Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy in 2002. While relatively new in his Pharmacist role with HPCCR, Mike completed his MBA from Pfeiffer University in May of 2009. 

In 2013, Mike’s rapport with clinical staff combined with his financial and regulatory acumen resulted in the creation of, and promotion as HPCCR’s first Chief Operating Officer.

In his role as COO, all of HPCCR’s clinical services report to Mike.  He has overall responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of compassionate end of life care to over 800 hospice patients and 700 palliative medicine patients daily--among 23 counties in North and South Carolina, and three Hospice Houses.   He directly oversees the clinical operations of HPCCR which includes the management of our interdisciplinary teams and the delivery of care to our patients.  Being a $60 million dollar healthcare entity focused solely on compassionate end of life care, Mike ensures that our organization meets the needs of our highly diverse population of patients.
